What is Tantra?

Start here your journey of discovery and healing

Welcome! If you’re here it’s because you’re curious about Tantra and what it can do for you.

Maybe you’ve heard someone talking about the healing power of tantra. Or maybe you’ve watched a documentary where someone explained how tantra works. Or you might still remember that tabloid news reporting how Sting and his wife could go on having sex for hours and hours, because of tantra.

But let me reassure you - a lot of what you hear about Tantra isn’t necessarily correct or true!

Tantra is a truly unparalleled - yet widely misunderstood - form of spirituality.

It can bring healing, openness, and empowerment. It leads to enlightenment for the body, mind and soul.

It’s not just about sex…

It’s about conscious living, deeper feelings and stronger connections with ourselves, our purpose and with others.

If you’ve been struggling with trauma, addiction, depression or just a sense of loss of purpose. Tantra can help you find your joy and life pleasure again.

It can give you energy, motivation and a deeper connection to yourself. It can help you break the patterns and find healing in a way you never knew it was possible.

My goal is to show you how Tantra, together with coaching, NLP and other transformational tools, can support you to embrace a life where every day feels like a new opportunity for fulfilment.

Before we start, let’s bust some myths

If you’ve never explored or experienced Tantra before, let me bust some myths for you, so you can step into this journey knowing what to expect you and ready to gain all the benefits this form of spirituality can bring you.

MYTH: Tantra is all about sex

A common Western misconception about tantra is its association with sex, which actually comes from a form of "neo-tantra" and has very little to do with the authentic form of spirituality. Many people mistakenly think of tantra as involving exotic sex positions, intense orgasms, and orgies, but that isn’t true!

FACT: Tantra is about sexuality and sensuality

The integration of human sexuality is just one of the transformative facets of tantra. By fixating solely on sex, one overlooks the deeper purpose of tantra.

Authentic tantra is a science, a way to work or transform energies through various practices. It’s profound, metaphysical, and meditative.

MYTH: Tantra is dangerous

Tantra can be dangerous if not practised correctly or authentically. Of course, as we’re approaching spirituality, things can get challenging, but not dangerous. If you’ve seen or heard stories about tantra cults or creepy and abusive tantra teachers, please let me tell you that’s not tantra and it’s not how it’s supposed to be.

FACT: Tantra is challenging and to be practised safely, it requires deep understanding

True, authentic tantra puts safety and boundaries first. As any personal development or spiritual path, it might present challenges, but if you’re prepared and you’re guided safely by the right teacher, it will be okay. Tantra is all about awareness, understanding, self-boundaries and intentions - and these are the things that will always keep you safe in your journey.

MYTH: Tantra is complicated and it’s not for everyone

When people think of tantra they think of something esoteric, magical, too complicated to approach. They also think that they cannot explore tantra unless they have a partner, but truly - your tantric journey starts with you.

FACT: Tantra is ancient spirituality, so it can come across as complex, but everyone can start on a tantric journey

Tantra is ancient, traditional and it can come with challenging, complex concepts and philosophies, so it might be confusing at first. However, when you start to look deeper and get more familiar with Tantra, you realise that a lot of the core principles are actually simple and they make part of our everyday existence. Having a great teacher by your side will make your tantric journey easier.

MYTH: I cannot practise it without a partner

Most people think that they cannot explore tantra unless they have a partner, but truly - your tantric journey starts with you.

FACT: Tantra is ancient spirituality, so it can come across as complex, but you definitely don’t need a partner to explore tantra

Tantra requires a deep understanding of your body so you don’t need a partner to start your own journey. Tantra is about your own energy, your own boundaries and self-love, your own awareness and empowerment; all of this makes it an inner journey that’s completely individual to you.
